Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography
The Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (Leibniz-Institut für Länderkunde, IfL) carries out original research on the regional geography of Europe and presents regional geographical information for geographers and a broader public. The Institute employs a European-wide comparative approach while focussing its research on Eastern Europe. Studies of the theoretical und historical foundations of regional geography constitute a further focus of the institute´s work.
The IfL is the only non-university research institute for geography in Germany.
